Safapac is also an approved lower tier COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazard) site, meaning we are able to handle quantities of dangerous substances, including flammable liquids, on site.
In compliance with HSE 71 segregation policies, we ensure materials are handled and stored safely.
With 4 temperature monitored warehousing units, across two locations, we are able to receive and store materials ahead of production schedules and store finished goods after product, easing delivery and collection scheduling for our customers. We have our own ramp so we can load and offload containers directly at our facility.
We are able to assist customers with arranging transport for their goods as required, from samples to arranging full load collections. With our own on-site DGSA we can also provide advice on shipping and labelling requirements.
We are happy to rent additional storage as requires, including specialist storage should it be required by our customers, for example chilled storage.
About our DGSA
Kasia Szulc successfully qualified as a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) in 2016, following an intensive five-day course and a series of exams.
At Safapac Kasia is responsible for handling, processing and transporting hazardous customer orders. These include crop protection products used to help farmers control insects, weeds, fungi and other potentially harmful pests.
Kasia joined Safapac in 2014 as a packer before being promoted into its customer service team. The company paid for her to complete the DGSA course and gave her time off to study after she voiced her keenness to learn and progress at work.
Kasia says: “I found the DGSA course enormously challenging but highly enjoyable. It feels great to pass, I am delighted that I have done my company proud and increased my range of responsibilities at work. Specialty chemicals is a safety-critical industry, so I take my role very seriously.”
